Are you awesome? We should talk…

The Columbia Valley Cycling Society is actively looking for a few good AMAZING volunteers to help positively impact the cycling scene in the Columbia Valley.

If you like bikes, event planning, trail development, maintenance and beer – we should talk.

We have volunteer opportunities in a few specific areas, including:

  • Trail Maintenance – We are looking for volunteers to take the lead on trail maintenance in our two main riding areas: Lake Lillian and Mt. Swansea.  Volunteers will be responsible for creating an inventory of maintenance tasks, and helping to organize work parties to help get the job done.  If you’re an experienced trail builder – that’s awesome!  Even if you’re not, we can work with you to develop your skills.
  • Memberships – We are looking for volunteers to help out with memberships!  This falls on two fronts – membership sales, and administration.  If you are organized and know your way around a spreadsheet, this job is for you!
  • Sponsorships – Are you outgoing?  We are looking to expand the range of perks we extend to our members.  This involves reaching out to local businesses to secure discounts and sponsorships for our valuable members and fun events!
  • Trail Ambassadors – This one is also for outgoing people – we’d love for someone to spend a few hours on busy weekends at one of our trailheads, talking with the public about the CVCS, our mission, projects, and memberships.

These positions require just a few hours of your time per month (less when we’re busy skiing, of course), and can make a huge impact on the

The CVCS has a very busy few years coming up, full of some super exciting projects.  Between project planning, grant applications, organizing community events and trail maintenance, thee current directors are spread pretty thin. If you have some passion, expertise and a bit of free time that you can bring to the table, connect with us on Facebook, or here. We’d love to hear from you!
